Ethan Javonillo is a filmmaker, artist, writer/ director, and CSUF alum. He graduated in 2020 with a BA in Cinema-Television Arts, with a minor in Asian American Studies. He has previously shown work at UCI's Beyond Borders Showcase and CSUF's Culture Couture. Inspired by the impressionist and neo-expressionist art movements, his work draws upon voices and narratives not commonly heard in mainstream American culture. The use of montage and poetic imagery parallels his passion for film through its assembly of images as a means of storytelling. His most recent work seeks to explore cultural identity, inter-generational trauma, and mental health.
